Chapati Bread

Here is a great little recipe that is great for those on the candida diet or need a milk free flat bread. I am not sure on the origin of this recipe as I have it written down on a scape piece of paper.

Ingredients:
  • 675g/1.5lb of wholemeal flour
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 350ml/12 floz of water
  • optional a pinch of salt
Instructions
  1. Mix all the ingredients together and knead into a nice dough. If the dough is a little wet as a bit more flour
  2. Cut into 8-10 pieces of equal size
  3. Roll out flat and quite thin so it covers the whole of a large frying pan
  4. Dry fry (don't put any oil in the pan) for about 45 seconds on each side.
Notes
  • I have cooked them in the grill, they come out a little crispier and some members of my family prefer them.
  • You can mix in some mix herbs with them to give them a little bit more taste.
  • Reduce the water a little bit and add a few large spoonfuls of natural yoghurt to give them a slight different texture
  • The first time you make this recipe it might take you a while, after a few times I became pretty quick at making them
  • It is also just the messy and simple recipe the children love to help with!
  • My children would eat them (with green olive or all things) as fast as I could get them cooked!
