Which is better Ebay or Etsy?

If you are into arts and crafts whether it be traditional drawing, card making or cushion making at some point you are going to produce more stuff than you can reliably use.

You will probably consider selling them on-line. At the moment the two main outlets are Etsy and Ebay

Which one is better?

Without a shadow of a doubt Etsy is currently much better than Ebay. The fee structure and the shop front approach rather than an auction approach works much better for items that can take a while to sell like arts and crafts items

Another important factor is the people who go to the sites or I should say the mind set of the people. If I go to Ebay I am looking for something cheap, cheaper than I can get in a local shop, this means if you try to sell high prices stuff on Ebay it does not work out so well.

If I go to Etsy I am expecting to pay more for a lovingly crafted probably unique item.

And this means that you can charge more at Etsy than you can at Ebay.

Etsy is a clear winner at the moment.

Note: There are other places to sell hand made items and you may find these work well for your products.
