Passive Income From The Internet Or Technology

Many people look at the internet and try to figure out ways to make money from it. Who can blame them there is a reasonable number of people saying they have achieved financial success via the internet.

In the article I look at the possibilities for a passive income on the internet. While there are many ways to make money on the internet many of them are effectively doing another job to earn more money meaning passive income opportunities are fairly limited. As building a passive income means you don't want to do much work after the initial set up, things like buying and selling items or making items to sell are not forms of passive income

Websites

This is the most obvious one, making website has never been easier. With free blogging services like blogger.com that can be used to make websites (rather than blogs) or perhaps you could try something like google sites. 

It is a cut throat market out there so from the point of view of passive incomes it may be better to focus on niche topic. Dependent on you picking you topic correctly it is possible possible to make money from adverts placed on the site. 

For passive incomes the topic is important. As the idea is to create a website and then do very little work on it you want a topic that stand the test of time. Making a website about the the latest gadgets mean you will have to update it all the time.

Blogging

While it is possible to make money blogging because of the continuous nature of the work required to blog, you have to keep writing posts, it does not really fall in to idea of a passive income.

Blogging is fun and can help you to earn a bit of extra cash if you work hard at it but it is not a passive income.

Applications for mobile and web

If you know how to program a computer (or have the aptitude to learn it) you can try to build a passive income from build apps for mobiles phones or for the web. You can either sell these apps or put advertising with them.

It can take a while to to learn to program and then a while longer to make applications or games people want to use but it is possible to do.

There is a lot of up front work and then some ongoing work to update the app but after a while you can stop updating and it will continue to sell or provide revenue from ads for a long time after you stop working on it. At this point it becomes a nice passive income.

Write a book

With the advent of e-readers like the kindle it is now possible for authors without publishing deals to earn money. Pick you topic whether it be fiction or factual and write a book. Publish it on amazon or use smashword

Once the book is written, other than marketing it and getting on with your next book there is not much else to do, meaning this one is most defiantly a passive income
